It is a fact known that ideas rule the world, in order of words, every great invention, and innovation. We see in this world somehow germinated from an idea – no matter the motive behind the thought. It’s not a strange thing that the entire population on earth come up with at least 3 - 7 separate ideas per day on several matters, simply because of our advanced nature as the higher animal – ability to think! We all come up with ideas; to achieve a given goal, realize an ideal, or build a business. Anybody can come up with any idea regardless of race, gender, background, education and geographical location, but not everybody can put that idea into work and materialize it. However, there are people who have a proven track record as founders and builders of ideas. Into reality and this ability has in a way separated these people from the normal everyday idea-thinking people. The difference is just the ability to not only think, but to execute. Realizing an idea or a dream is synonymous with starting a business or a conglomerate. It’s really a daunting task to take on, considering the heightened stakes and serious challenges involved. Which is why the burden cannot be lifted alone. There must be a group of individuals to help push it. Which is the case for all the most successful founders and all the greatest inventor there is. And in recent times this group of individuals can also be termed as a team. Which consists of bright minded people regardless of their religion, tribe, race, gender etc. But with the same mind organized towards a directed vision in order to create a master mind.
What is a master mind?
The concept of "Mastermind" was inspired by a late American writer, Napoleon Hill. He had many conversations with the one of the most successful businessmen, Henry ford and Andrew Carnegie, who attributed their entire fortune and success to their Mastermind group. In his book "Think and Get Rich", the concept of Mastermind was described as "The Coordination of Knowledge and effort between two or more people working for a specific goal in a spirit of harmony ... Two spirits never meet without creating a third invisible force, which can be compared to a third spirit, "also known as Mastermind. The concept of the mater mind is a very powerful way to create something useful from scratch if you are planning on giving it a try. The writer’s notion is that the mind is the most powerful form of energy and whenever two or more people think alike to form one mind and focus on a goal, there’s 100% chance of success. The mastermind concept has proven to be the most effective ingredient in building with a team of individuals, it has been there all along through the ages, but we never really point it out as a concept. Take for instance the story of Jesus Christ in the bible. Yes, he was the son of God, but why did he had to gather disciples for himself before he could fulfil God’s will? Simple. He couldn’t have done it on his own, he needed a team to work. Same thing with all the other prophets of God. Now let’s look at the concept of a sporting event or a game, there’s always a complete team before competing somehow. And at the end of the day when a team wins, it’s recorded as a teamwork. Even in solo games like boxing, there’s still a team of coach and trainers.
Why build a team?
A great team is behind every successful business. Many start-up companies as well as bigger conglomerates have learned to use this principle. A team exists to allow an effort to grow, evolve, and prosper in ways that would literally be impossible for one person to do. A successful team starts with hiring the right people, the ones for whom it is important to work. With a common goal, goal-oriented and respectful of the hierarchical structure demanded by most companies. Once the right people are doing well, the goal is to bring them together into a single unit.
The three ways to build anything with a strong team.
Motivate with positivity
There are sometimes that a member of the team might feel discouraged based on some challenges that come with the journey, which can in a way affect the flow of the mastermind. But it’s the job of the leader to reinforce the positive energy and motivate the team member.
The leader should also resist the urge to criticize team members’ mistakes. Instead, create a positive team environment by mentioning the events and behaviors that you particularly liked, and motivate your team to contribute more where they came from. Positive reinforcement is a much more productive way to encourage team performance than those that have messed up.
Practice emotional intelligence
Great leaders understand that not every person is motivated by the same thing. For instance, some team players thrive on pursuing shared goals. Others seek healthy competition, with an external competitor or against another sales team or department in the same company. Accepting the realities of different styles of work and different forms of motivation. An effective leader will treat member's individual differences as an asset, not a hindrance. Find ways to reward good work. Find a small way to show that you’re paying close attention to your team and their efforts are appreciated. It will reflect well on you as a leader and help remind people that they are a valued member of the team.
